Orange County Health Angency Information
Orange County Health Agency has released some information about the entrovirus that you may have seen or heard about on the news. Enteroviruses are very common viruses of childhood, and cause illnesses including intestinal infection and common cold-type illness. Most enterovirus infections are mild and get better on their own. Children can occasionally have more severe symptoms, which include difficulty breathing and wheezing. Treat typical cold symptoms, including stuffy nose, cough, or congestion as you normally would. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest and drinks plenty of liquids. Children who are ill should be watched closely, particularly those with a history of asthma. Click here for document.
NEWLAND NAMED 2014 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL
I cannot truly express how honored and proud I am of all of all of the teachers, students, and staff, past and present, at Newland. From the moment I stepped on campus, I have known the people who work and volunteer at Newland are of Blue Ribbon quality. Additionally, we have some amazing students who awe me daily. Newland receiving the National Blue Ribbon Award is another validation of what parents, teachers, our community, and I have known for some time... Newland is AWESOME!
Parents, PTA has set up a website where you can purchase membership, spirit wear, 100 mile club and yearbooks online.
The Arts & Learning Conservatory
The Arts & Learning Conservatory is dedicated to creating a solid and focused experience on & off stage for each student through its unique performing arts programs offering dynamic instruction in instrumental classes. Our goal is to promote a hands-on experience in the arts to all children regardless of race, age, income or level of experience. Students in the A&L program receive university-level concepts presented at age appropriate levels, allowing participants to achieve higher levels of excellence in their personal & artistic abilities. Most importantly, we seek to keep a love of the arts alive while instilling valuable life skills that promote teamwork, articulation, public speaking, and refined social skills.
1st Day of School
We have partnered with a new company called Brick by Brick that has a business agreement with Office Depot to supply schools with an average of 50% off all school supplies. Their website is linked to our school website and all you need to do is enter our school name and grade level and the site will automatically show you which supplies our teachers are recommending for the coming year. You can order the supplies in a bundle and shipping is extremely low and your supplies will arrive to your home within 48 hours. Using this service is of course optional, but I am sure most of you will find it to be an affordable and efficient method for ordering school supplies. Click below to order supplies...
